French Students Propose the Twinning of All French Schools

The French IXe Parlement des enfants has adopted a "'law proposition"' for twinning all French schools with other schools from EU countries. Every year, the "Children's Parliament" gathers 577 children, who represent all French legislative districts, as "junior deputies" (10 - 11 years old) elected by their own classmates.

The "Proposition de loi visant à jumeler chaque école française avec une école de la CEE" was the decision adopted this year in the Parlement des enfants.

According to this law proposal, every French school will have to be twinned to another European school. Each class will make regular use of e-mail to communicate in their own language. The young students insist on the necessity to complement virtual meetings with real ones. The project includes other useful ideas, for example, each French student would have a counterpart in the foreign school to interact and develop activities with.
