Student guidance at university for inclusion
STAY IN – Student guidance at university for inclusion is a two-year project co-funded under the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning programme, Erasmus Multilateral Projects. The project aims to provide a comprehensive on-going guidance service, including e-guidance, to students in higher education to contribute to increasing their educational achievement.
Guidance services at university are generally focused on access (learning guidance), and exit (placement, career services). Support for students during their studies is less well-addressed, or not addressed at all. However, most students dropping out from university, point to the need for continuous support during the study lifecycle. This is particularly the case for distance students, given the fact that support services are often available only at the universities’ premises.
STAY IN therefore seeks to design and develop a service capable of supporting students in higher education during their academic career, by offering guidance and e-guidance to access available opportunities within the universities and in the communities where the universities are active. Guidance is conceived of as personalised support for each student to tackle potential obstacles that lead to disengagement and drop-out. Key expected results include:
- an integrated guidance and counselling system for universities, covering processes, methods, tools;
- an eGuidance platform for European universities, designed and developed in order to address the specific needs of higher education institutions and higher education students for of guidance and counselling services, and suitable for supporting on-going guidance and counselling;
- an updated picture of the practices across Europe on guidance for inclusion, and of the student’s point of view on guidance and e-guidance needs during their educational experience.

The reAct project final conference, which brings this two year project to a close, will bring together a group of projects to discuss experiences and results centred around the main axes of the work done in the project. These are creativity and autonomy as facilitators of intrinsic motivation, and the challenges involved in integrating new approaches in traditional curricular contexts, which most innovative projects face. The conference will be a forum for these projects to share their perceptions around these axes and derive some conclusions.
The reAct Project - International Conference:
“Empowering teachers and learners for a digital world”
will be held in Valencia (Spain) on October 10, 2012.
ReAct, re-activating teachers and learners, is a transnational European project within the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union, KA3 (ICT). The project duration is from 01/01/2011 to 31/12/2012. The project website is at http://www.reactproject.eu
The percentage of youth who do not complete compulsory education is a significant social problem in Europe and one of the main challenges of professionals in training is promoting the intrinsic motivation of students. There is a huge disconnect between educational programs and what students expect to learn or see as relevant to their lives.
The goal of reAct is to develop a methodology based on enhancing the autonomy, creativity and collaboration of students and teachers through ICT tools including web 2.0, with a view to facilitating the development of learner motivation, and to explore how to integrate this innovation into existing educational programs.

The conference will be a forum for these projects to share their perceptions around these axes and derive some conclusions.
The structure of the reAct International Conference includes two keynote speeches. The first of these by Wim Veen (University of Delft, NL) will focus on innovation in the classroom, the other will be by Lieve van den Brand (European Commission, responsible for educational policy design)will look at educational innovation from a policy perspective. These will be followed by three round tables on creativity, autonomy, and innovation. Finally a brief presentation of the conclusions of the discussions will be made.

Lutte contre le décrochage scolaire : séminaire de contact européen
Le CRDP d'Amiens accueille un séminaire de contact européen et une conférence européenne, "Expérimentons ensemble contre le décrochage scolaire", du 15 au 18 novembre 2011. Le ministère français de l'éducation nationale et l'agence Europe éducation formation France en sont les organisateurs.
Cette rencontre vise à engager les partenaires européens dans des expérimentations conjointes. Elle rassemble :
- des chefs d'établissement français et européens ;
- des représentants académiques ;
- l'Inspection générale de l'Éducation nationale
- des représentants du monde de l'entreprise ;
- des représentants de collectivités locales ;
- des représentants de la Commission européenne.
Les établissements participant au séminaire travaillent ensemble, par équipes de projets, sur :
- les objectifs et résultats attendus des expérimentations ;
- les activités qui peuvent être mises en place ;
- la mise en place de partenariats scolaires.
Le 17 novembre, parallèlement au séminaire de contact, une conférence réunit des représentants de la Commission européenne et des responsables éducatifs d'Allemagne, de Chypre, de Pologne, du Portugal et du Royaume-Uni. Cette conférence vise à mettre en perspective les politiques nationales de prévention du décrochage scolaire et les orientations européennes.
En juin 2010, les chefs d'État et de gouvernement adoptaient la stratégie Europe 2020 et s'engageaient à ramener à moins de 10% la proportion de jeunes quittant l'École sans diplôme.
IKT und elektronische Musik als Mittel für weniger Schulabbrüche in Europa
Die Verwendung von IKT bei e-Motion ist kein Selbstzweck, sondern ein Hilfsmittel zur Umgestaltung von Lern- und Lehrprozessen durch die Ergänzung der traditionellen Methoden um neuartige Verfahren. Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, mit dem Einsatz von IKT, vor allem von elektronischer Musik und Informatik, einen experimentellen Ansatz umzusetzen. Ein Verständnis von Klangtechnologien trägt zu einem Verständnis wichtiger physikalischer Konzepte wie Akustik und Wellenlehre bei, und der kreative Prozess bei der Erschaffung elektronischer Musik impliziert auch Elemente aus Mathematik, Physik und Informatik. Mit diesem innovativen Ansatz bemüht sich das Projekt um die Verbesserung der Kompetenz junger Menschen in wichtigen Unterrichtsfächern wie Mathematik und Fremdsprachen.
Die Lissabon-Strategie hat die Notwendigkeit benannt, die Zahl der jungen Schulabbrecher, die mit geringer oder ohne Qualifikation auf den Arbeitsmarkt drängen, zu reduzieren. Viele dieser Teenager enden in der so genannten NEET-Gruppe (Not in Employment, Education or Training / Nicht in Beschäftigung, Bildung oder Ausbildung). Die Strategie legt spezifische Ziele fest, die eine ausreichende Qualifikation junger Menschen für einen reibungslosen Übergang von der Schulbildung in die Beschäftigung gewährleisten sollen; Ziele, die von vielen Mitgliedsstaaten bisher nicht erreicht werden.
