29 Januar 2003
The project aims at developping a programme for teaching English and French via the ICTs.
The project which is co-financed by the European Commission (Lingua D/2) is carried out by 14 European institutions in total (schools, universities and enterprises). Its aim is to develop teaching and learning material for collaborative open distance learning on the Web in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
Each language is grouped around a certain metaphor:
- English: A themepark: Themepark
- Spanish: A person: Español con Carlitos
- French: A TV-programme: Canal Rêve
Each site provides the users with the following information:
- Coherent interactive didactical units which provide different activities : An interface will exploit the possibilities of multimedia and will give access to different levels and activities, all grouped around specific topics in the frame of a metapher. There will be different levels for the language learners.
- "Events": certain activities, changing and taking place within certain periods of time. These events have the character of a contest. There is a jury who selects the best production and prizes the best contributions. This encourages the communication and the collaborative work between the different European participants, the different levels of learners, but also teachers.
- A centre of resources for language teachers and learners: with pedagogical material giving information about the WEB and the didactics of language teaching with the means of the WEB, especially guidelines for the above mentioned units. This materiel proposes a didactic reflection , which allows teachers to inform themselves and to learn something out of it.
The project addresses itself on the one hand side to adult learners and to adults of different levels. The online activities want to familiarise the learner with ICT. On the other hand side the products which are put online allow the language teachers to work with ICT and to use the resources which are allowed by the WEB.

Towards Democratic Citizenship Through Non-Formal Education
28 Januar 2003
What the partnership of the project is going to explore are the specific processes within non-formal education which enhance citizenship.
Democracy and active citizenship are now at the heart of an emerging debate and critical reflection in most European countries.
Through the Council Of Europe a number of locations throughout Europe which have engaged in activities to give definition to and implement the principles of modern democratic citizenship, have been designated sites of citizenship. Within sites, principles of democracy are accepted, implemented, exercised and promoted.
This has been fostered in a number of ways within the sites, ranging from formal education programmes within schools and institutions of education, non-formal education programmes and the development of participatory structures to address social exclusion.
Specifically the project wishes to explore this through a process of participatory research, involving citizens from four sites in assessing the specific tools, instruments, mechanisms and dynamics within non-formal education that instigate empowerment and learning and thereby strengthen citizenship.
The core work of this partnership will focus primarily on the implementation of a programme of research, which will be documented in a report. Dissemination will occur through a number of national seminars, as well as linking with a range of trans-European initiatives aimed at enhancing education for citizenship.

a) adultes ayant une expérience professionnelle mais sans formation officielle ;
b) adultes de moins de 25 ans qui ont abandonné le système scolaire classique sans acquérir les capacités et les qualifications de base ;
c) immigrants sans formation ;
a) apprendre à apprendre avec les nouvelles technologies pour faciliter l'éducation permanente d'adultes par Internet ;
b) aider à changer les attitudes par de nouveaux savoirs ;
i) un modèle ou référence théorique qui sera le guide d'élaboration des contenus et des innovations pédagogiques dans les itinéraires de formation ;
ii) un ensemble de méthodologies applicables aux groupes cibles ;

The voices of immigrants on adult education
28 Januar 2003
The project at developping a programme for the education of adult inmigrants, taking into account their own voices, which will be included in a website.

28 Januar 2003
The objective of the project is that of developping a trainning programme about the effects of autism addressed to parents or relatives and caretakers via Internet.

participation in democratic life
participation in democratic life
This project, which has been planed for three years, wants to raise awareness of the topic of active citizenship and the European citizenship. These subjects are not particularly well known in marginal social-economic situations and are even less so part of women's attitude, so they are always marginal protagonists of political and administrative life.
The aims of the project are:
- to increase knowledge of the function of local, national and European institutions;
- to raise awareness of female citizens to the concept of ''European membership'';
- to increase active participation in local political life;
- to stimulate the participation in non conventional formative activities on the topics of active citizenship and on the concept of European citizenship.
During the implementation of the project, several products will be produced:
- A report of researching the women's situation regarding participation in political/decisional life and their ''sense of membership'';
- Web site ;
- Didactic modules and didactic materials ;
- Training courses ;
- Instruments for self-learning (brochure and FAD multimedia course) ;
- Manual of good practice.

Development of a Vocational Tool on Textile Fibres designed for the New Work Situation in European SMEs based upon the use of new information and communication technologies
27 Januar 2003
An interactive, web-based, training tool will be developed to inform upon all types of fibres to include information on technical characteristics, textile families, functionality and types of application.
FIBRONET will develop a single interface for information on textile fibres, to be accessed through the internet and to serve a wide range of potential users related to the sector (i.e. students & young people considering the textiles sector as a career, those currently employed in textiles and unemployed persons considering textiles for re-entry to the workforce).
To support the data there will be a more general module presented giving basic background information on the textile industry, textile properties, textile standards and even listings of individual textile producers. Through the use of modern technologies i.e. the internet there will be the potential for increased access to this information and at a time which suits individual users.
Both tools will be piloted during the lifetime of the project and freely accessible, beyond this the background database will remain freely accessible with the comprehensive fibre database being considered for charged access according to the services chosen.
